Associate Director, Tax ReportingThe Associate Director, Tax Reporting, will support the Director and Executive Director of Tax Reporting and Compliance in achieving required quarterly, yearly, and forecast tax reporting for SEC filings, external and internal communications.Key Responsibilities:ASC 740 reporting, including all requisite analyses, disclosures, and management communicationsYear-end closing process and provision to compliance integrationAssistance with preparation and tie out of the income tax sections of all SEC filingsAnnual tax plan and quarterly reforecasts/ETR updatesManages the NonUS tax provision review process with the finance contractsProvides tax provision system training to global usersASC 740 application with respect to transactional activityASC 740 review with external auditorsASC 740 process/software continuous improvementSOX controls/testing requirements relating to functionCoordination with the Carrier Tax Risk & Advisory group to account for the impacts of uncertain tax positionsCoordination with the Carrier Tax Transfer Pricing group for application of TP in the tax provisionForecast, plan & year end analysis of the foreign rate cost or benefitOversight of the NonUS return to provision process with external contractorsManages 2-3 Carrier employees and/or contractorsResponsible for providing primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and reward decisionsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting8 + years of experience with ASC 740 in a large, multi-national, corporate tax or accounting firm environment3 + years of direct managerial responsibilityPreferred Qualifications:Advanced tax degree would be a plusCPA certification or jurisdictional equivalentOperative understanding of tax cycle from planning through auditAbility to understand complex tax concepts and apply those concepts to minimize taxesWorking knowledge of all major areas of tax law affecting CarrierUnderstanding of the impact of taxes on financial statements, and ability to combine tax and accounting knowledge to improve business resultsAbility to resolve complex technical issues, and recognize the need for and seeks out internal or external subject matter expertiseExcellent understanding of tax provision system
