Facilities Engineering ManagerUnder the supervision of the Assistant Director of Support Services, the Facilities Engineering Manager:Provides direction and supervision for the day-to-day and planned activities of the Maintenance Engineering GroupTroubleshoots building system operation for current and potential building system maintenance problemsMaintains equipment histories as necessary for assigned areasReviews plans and specificationsManages repairs, and construction projects for operations concerns/issues related to maintainability and life cycle costs of building systems and componentsProvides oversight and direction to the preventive maintenance programRecommends improvements to building systems based on data and engineering best practicesNormal schedule is 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, but is subject to changes in shift, hours, days, and/or location as operations dictate.In accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17, this position has been designated as a standby position.Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent; 5 years of relevant experience, valid Driver's License; contract management background, knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical equipment and systems, building standards, building systems maintenance, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, lubrication techniques and materials, measurement equipment and related recording systems, understand and interpret technical instructions, plan reading.Desired Qualifications: 8-12 years of relevant experience; Considerable experience in building systems operations, work group management; building system controls; preventive maintenance program development and oversight; Professional Engineer (PE) certification or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification.The target hiring range for this job profile is $88,300 - $115,350 annually.
