Infosys is seeking a Linux Server Administrator. This role requires close partnership and collaboration with other Engineers and Subject Matter Experts.
Required Qualifications:
• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Malta, NY, or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in Linux Server Administration and Maintenance.
• Conduct L2 or L3 support experience including: Patching and Upgrade as well as Backup and Recovery
• Manage: Installation & Administration.
• Build new instances environment and projects.
• Troubleshoot Hardware related issues.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for support of systems outside of normal business hours.
• Must be able to work in 24x7 production support environment.
• U.S. Citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply. We are unable to sponsor this time.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Excellent Communications and client interaction skills along with exceptional written and verbal skills as well as technical documentation
• Extraordinary Planning, Project Management, Coordination, and Analytical skills
• Hands-on experience in working in Global Delivery Model with onsite/offshore resources
• Exceptional Organizational Skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently
• Readiness to demonstrate a proactive attitude
• Solid attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
• Exposure in managing High availability clustered systems is a perk.
• AIX Server Administration is a benefit.
• Data Center experience is a plus.
• Change Management and Disaster Recovery experience is an advantage.
• Performance tuning and cross platform migrations experience is an asset.
• Automation with scripts is a boost.
• Experience with VMware and V-Center is an added advantage.
The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face.
