Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/08/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, evenings, nights Employment Type: Travel Radius Rule: 50 miles ER Unit Notes - RN Unit Details Department: Emergency Room (ER) Trauma Levels: Trauma Level IV STEMI Level I Stroke Level II Currently working toward Level III Trauma designation and accepting Level III patients Beds/Trauma Bays: 45 total Includes: 4 hallway beds, 4 vertical rooms, 1 trauma bay, 1 resuscitation bay, 1 cardiac room Workflow & Layout Fast Track: Yes - vertical space & rapid assessment Triage: Separate triage area (travel nurses do not triage) ER Holds: Intermixed throughout the ER Psych/Seclusion Rooms: 4 psych rooms (included in 45 beds) - all require 1:1 sitters Security: In-house, located within the ER, 24/7 Daily Patient Volume: 170 patients/day Staffing & Ratios RN Ratios: 1:4-5 Required Certs: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC Experience Requirements: Minimum 2.5 years ED experience Must come from larger urban hospital Trauma experience strongly preferred Common Drips: Nicardipine, Propofol, Fentanyl, Norepinephrine, Nitroglycerin, Versed, Precedex, etc. Providers: Always at least 1 physician + 1 APP May have up to 6 providers on shift Charge Structure: Charge RN (no assignment) Assistant Nurse Manager Administrative Supervisor Support Staff CNA/EMT/Techs: CNA ratio approx. 1:5-9 Duties: EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care (no irrigation). Splinting done by provider. RT: In ER 24/7 Performs ABGs, breathing treatments, manages all respiratory equipment Tele/Monitor Techs: None - RNs responsible for reading/interpreting Equipment: SpaceLabs cardiac monitors Radiology: X-ray & CT located in the ER Overflow handled in main radiology; RNs transport unless patient is critical Lab Draws: RNs, CNAs, or phlebotomy Scheduling Shift Length: 12-hour shifts Start Times: 07:30-20:00 10:00-22:30 11:30-00:00 13:30-02:00 15:30-04:00 19:30-08:00 May mix start times within AM or PM sets; never scheduled for a late-to-early turnaround Scheduling: Placed where the unit needs; no block scheduling Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend days per 6-week schedule (equivalent to 2 full weekends) Holiday Requirement: As needed Call/Standby: None Floating: Rare - may float to Boise Medical Center or Nampa Medical Center ERs Other Info Scrub Color: No specific color - must be clean and professional Orientation: 1 shift on the floor after hospital + Epic training About Talent4Health A leader and innovator, offering comprehensive talent solutions for the healthcare industry across the nation.
