Mailshop (Affixing) Operator

Hours: 7AM-3PM

Job Summary

This position is responsible for operating or assisting in a direct mail manufacturing environment with a focus on reduction in cost related errors, exceeding client expectation, and driving a safe workplace. This position helps to prepare the highest quality mailing pieces/packages as required by operating high speed folder machinery efficiently and safely

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates and maintains high-speed folder machinery efficiently and safely.
  • Sets up machinery and make necessary adjustments per job instructions.
  • Meets and exceeds production standards while maintaining quality.
  • Troubleshoots machinery issues to minimize downtime.
  • Ensures all work adheres to safety policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Communicates job status and production concerns during shift changes.
  • Records production numbers and quality inspection results accurately.
  • Returns unused materials to the warehouse and ensure proper handling of all materials.
  • Works with urgency to resolve any equipment downtime and maintain production flow.
  • Collaborates with team members and management to ensure seamless workflow across shifts.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required to ensure the team's success.

Position Qualifications:

  • 2 years of manufacturing experience (Print Industry Preferred).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Able to lift and move 50 pounds or more repeatedly.
  • Capable of standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for machine setup.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and leadership.
  • Must demonstrate reliability through excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed.
  • Accountability for the quality of work produced and the ability to foster a team-oriented environment.
