Production Artist

Our agency client is searching for a Production Designer to join their team, full time. You'll work between 2 and 3 days onsite weekly in Providence.

As Production Artist, you'll heavily focus on private label packaging and print projects. You'll work across all aspects, from layout, including die lines to preparing print-ready / pre-production files. Must work well within established brand guides. Have an eye for QA'ing work as it's produced.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

- Effectively adapt brand guidelines through to artwork execution

- Ensure that job instructions are aligned to artwork supplied and/or referenced.

- Apply art to printer supplied die drawing; verify colors used and check the resolution of any CT’s; manipulate files to match vendor specs

- Adjust art to meet minimum type and line thickness accordingly based on specifications for different types of printing and client requirements, and approved style guides.

- Assign color builds and Pantone ink swatches to art elements

- Output proofs as needed for internal checks and as specified on the order for customer review and approval

The ideal Production Artist has at least 5 years' experience in a print-heavy / packaging role, along with:

- a portfolio of produced packaging and print samples

- the ability to juggle several projects simultaneously without losing any attention to detail

- is highly motivated and solutions oriented

- can comfortably work with FTP sites, the Creative Suite

- thrives when working within strict brand guidelines
