Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a Production Engineer/Linux Systems Engineers/Application Support for one of our automated trading desks. As a part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with trading strategy and infrastructure development teams and be an important part of getting new technologies and strategies configured and deployed.You will work directly with our technologists, traders and quantitative research analysts to develop tools to monitor and support the production environment on a highly automated trading desk as well as developing and maintaining software build tools on Linux. You will have the opportunity to learn market microstructure and how the system setup and system risk relates to the trading.In this role you will:Develop scripts for monitoring the state of the production environment and its dependencies for an automated trading deskWork with the Platform Engineering team to assist in server imaging, testing and deploymentAct as a liaison between the trading desk and network, security, market data and platform teams for system level production issues and new setupsMonitor and support a highly distributed production systemProvide multi-level support for traders, strategists and quantitative researchersWhat you can expect from us:Real Impact: You’ll be designing and optimizing systems that process massive amounts of data, ensuring high performance and stability. We’re looking for people who are naturally curious, relentless problem solvers, and have the desire to continuously innovate, learn, and grow.Technical:FAST pace, Automated trading desk, work very closely w/trading strategies, infrastructure development, multi-level supportOS up to application, L1-L3 issues, mix of systems, automation, DevOps supportLinux preferred, python, bash must haves - have to have scriptingOn-Prem2+ yrs professional experience (7-10 sweet spot)Prometheus/Grafana - good, NOT requiredQualifications:A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related disciplineDemonstrated proficiency in scripting languages (Python, bash, shell) requiredStrong interpersonal and communication skills for working with traders, quants and other developers requiredAbility to work in a fast paced environment requiredExcellent quantitative skills are strongly preferredGood understanding of financial instruments and markets is a plusAbility to work in office 5 days per week
