Summary

Finance Manager is responsible for advising an organization on how to increase profit through prudent financial practices and monitoring and enforcing compliance with finance-related laws, procedures, and regulations such as tax filing and financial reporting. This role ensures consistent and meaningful accounting policies, reporting procedures, and financial oversight. The Finance Manager must have a sense of urgency, be results oriented, self-motivated, and have a strong work ethic and live company core values.

 

Responsibilities

·        Perform financial management duties including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analyzing results and assessing the financial health of the company.

·        Oversee the operations and development of the company’s finance departments including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.

·        Advise colleagues and executive management on decisions related to the company’s finances.

·        Create strategic business plans based on the analysis of the company’s status and financial forecasts.

·        Updates and manages weekly cashflow reporting.

·        Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.

·        Functional oversight of receivables including customer collections, payables including check runs, inventory and fixed asset management, tax filings, insurance, and payroll.

·        Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.

·        Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.

·        Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

·        Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

·        Interpret financial information, present findings, and advocate Leadership for change/recourse, if needed.

·        Work with leaders to analyze dept. performance, identify savings, develop projections, and create opportunities.

·        Timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions ensured through implementing and monitoring internal audits, controls, and checks across all departments.

·        Continuously improve and streamline financial processes for improved accuracy and accountability.

·        Works closely with outside accounting firm to ensure tax compliance, R&D tax credits, tax returns / statements, and annual financial reports are reviewed and published accurately and timely.

·        Assists HR Manager with employee payroll and benefit financial matters.

·        Administers Company Incentive Program 

·        Contribute to great working relationships where we promote culture and achieve organizational goals.

·        Other duties as requested by the President.


Qualifications

·        Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or MBA a plus

·        2-4 years of experience in accounting and financial analysis; manufacturing background a plus

·        Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills

·        Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP rules, and financial administration

·        Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.

·        Expert in QuickBooks Pro Software

·        Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints.

·        Ability to represent LasX in a professional manner using utmost discretion.

·        Proficient with Microsoft applications – Advanced Excel skills are required.

·        Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·        Effective and persuasive presentation skills on controversial and/or complex topics to Senior Management, banks, public groups, and/or Board of Directors
