Director of Operations

Director of OperationsArcosa Aggregates is seeking a Director of Operations based out of our Hammond, LA office to support a positive safety culture by directing the activities and staff within a dredge environment in Louisiana and Mississippi and a blasting/crushing environment in Florida and Alabama that are regulated by MSHA safety standards.Day to DayChampion a positive culture of safety excellence leading to safe performance and compliance.Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines and best practices including those related to safety, health and environmental.Provide vision, direction and strategies to deliver optimal business performance.Ensure business goals and objectives are in line with the overall business strategy.Measure and respond to performance results on a regular basis, lead the operations organization to take advantage of opportunities, and take corrective measures where necessary.Manage operating and capital budgets and assist with forecasting.Lead the team toward achieving business goals, growing profitability, ensuring quality and expanding the customer base.In conjunction with operations personnel, maintain or enhance communication with customers and suppliers to ensure the necessary components are in place to provide superior customer service and capitalize on opportunities.Build direct relationships with key customers, participate in industry and community organizations, and enhance the esteem and reputation of the company.Ensure talent management and recruiting strategies are executed to provide optimal staffing and team performance.About You:Bachelor's Degree, MBA preferred.At least 10 years of overall experience in the construction materials industryAt least 10 years of experience in progressively responsible position in sales, operations or engineering with a proven track record of leading safely, ethically and responsibly. Prior supervisory experienceStrong understanding of both sales and operationsIn-depth understanding of the financial aspects of a business and interpretation of financial reportsSignificant market pricing knowledge and cost awarenessExcellent leadership, negotiation and organizational influence skillsProficiency in Microsoft OfficeExperience across multiple product lines: aggregates, hot-mix asphalt, ready mix concrete and road construction a plusWet and dry mining experience (Dredge and drill/blast/crushing)Sand-Gravel and Hardrock ExperienceExperience leading a large group of operations with 100+ employees.Experience in managing operations across a large geographic area (i.e. multiple states)BenefitsArcosa is proud to offer competitive benefits and programs to help you and your family meet your healthcare and retirement planning needs.
