Program Supervisor, Early LiteracyThe Agenda for Children Literacy Initiative (AFC) seeks an experienced Program Supervisor to lead the activities of the Let's Talk early literacy program in Cambridge. This critical role will help connect early literacy development directly to the broader maternal and child health (MCH) outcomes for families in Cambridge. This involves direct program leadership, team supervision, strategic partnership, and data management. The Supervisor oversees the full lifecycle (planning, implementation, and improvement) of activities like home visits and workshops. A primary focus is on strategic outreach to all families, especially diverse and underserved populations (immigrant, low-income, and father-focused communities). The role requires developing strong community partnerships and leading data efforts. A core function of this role is to build and maintain a strong team. This involves recruiting, hiring, training, and directly supervising a diverse team of part-time multilingual staff, known as Literacy Ambassadors, ensuring they are equipped to deliver the program effectively. Beyond the primary program, you will participate in broader Agenda for Children team projects and events, such as the Book Bike program, and represent the initiative in relevant community meetings and coalitions. You are also expected to participate in departmental workgroups, committees, and events, and seek continuing education and training to maintain best practices in the field.QualificationsEducation & TrainingBachelor's degree or commensurate experience in education, social work, public health, or a closely related field. Equivalent, relevant professional experience may be substituted for a degree.Required ExperienceThree to six (3-6) years of professional experience in healthcare, social services, education, family support, public health, or a related field. Proven knowledge of Maternal and Child Health principles and the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) as they impact low-income and immigrant families. Proven ability to recruit, hire, train, and effectively supervise a team of part-time community staff (Literacy Ambassadors). Demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse and underserved populations. Proven commitment to and experience working with young children and families. Experience with staff supervision is strongly preferred. Bilingual fluency (highly preferred), to effectively communicate with the target population and supervise multilingual staff. Experience with home visiting is a plus. Please note that the final offer may vary within the listed Pay Range, based on a candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
