Position: Medical Supply Technicians Location: Palo Alto, CA Duration: 12 monthsJob Description: • The VA Palo Alto Healthcare System, Supply Chain Services, currently needs Medical Supply Technicians to manage and distribute supplies throughout the VAPAHCS. • The Contractor shall furnish all key personnel to provide medical supply processing, storage, and distribution of consumable supplies, sterile supplies, and the utilization of automated point of use systems in wards, clinics, and operating rooms. • The range of MST services are the same as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of the quality, meeting or exceedingly currently recognized national standards as established by a state, territory, of the US. • All MST will have a minimum of 2 years recent experience. Services: • Medical Support Technicians (MST), to provide services on site to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) located within the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. • MST's will have use of all required patient care equipment, supplies, and computer access for performing services required by this contract. • All services shall be provided in accordance with the specifications, terms and conditions contained herein. Qualifications Technical Proficiency: Medical supply technicians to be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently. Managing inventory: Pulling, replenishing, monitoring stock levels (including expiration dates and critical supplies), and conducting daily inventory using barcoding. • Distribution: Distributing supplies based on requirements and delivering them in a timely and functional condition. • Customer interaction: Providing information to customers and addressing any concerns. • Preparation and cleaning: Preparing specialty carts and cleaning assigned areas according to aseptic principles. • Receiving: Receiving supplies into the medical center. Business Hours: Multiple Shifts to include: 0700 AM-0330 PM; 0730AM-4000PM; 0800AM-0430PM; 1030AM-0700PM; 1130AM-0800PM; 1230PM-900PM; 0330PM-1200AM; 1200 AM -0830 AM. Length of shifts: There will be seven different 8-hour shifts (if applicable).
