Duties include:Provide milieu-based support throughout the school day to monitor and address student behaviorProvide support to students, teachers and clinicians regarding student needs, staff and student safety, and assisting with positive behavior interventionsIndividual would report to the Assistant Head of SchoolSupport student arrival, lunch and dismissal processesUphold program-wide student positive behavior plans and school safety protocolsSupport teaching and clinical staff in managing student behavior and following Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) protocols during crisesTake direction from clinical team and administration to support student interventionsAssist clinical team in the implementation of bullying protocols and restitution tasksThe process includes, but may not be limited to: communicating reason for behavioral consequence with the student, supporting reintegration into the room, assisting with de-escalation of dysregulated studentsParticipate in staff and team meetings regularly to communicate student needs and progressServe as collaborator with all staff; keep personnel informed of relevant information regarding studentsConduct daily walk throughs of the campus to ensure school expectations are being metWork with staff and students to promote building maintenance and cleanliness, emphasizing executive functioning strategies and supports for student skill-buildingWork cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents to deliver a fully-integrated, student-centered learning environment for each individual learner;Participate in all training and staff development modules, including reading required books and articles on cutting-edge 2E and other educational developments;Must be able to use GSuite, specifically Google DrivePerform other duties as assignedCompetencies:Love for working with childrenDesire and ability to work with students with special needsAbility to connect with middle and high school-aged childrenProviding engaging instructionEffective oral and written communicationA solid understanding of middle and high school-aged children's academic, social, and emotional developmentAttention to detailMaintaining confidentiality and privacyEthical conductTime management and the ability to multitaskTeamwork and collaborationPatience and flexibilityRequired Education and Experience:Bachelor's DegreeCrisis management experienceWork Environment:This job operates
