About the Role We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer II to take the lead in architecting, building, and maintaining essential services that form the backbone of our cloud infrastructure and product platforms. In this hybrid role, you will leverage your extensive software development expertise alongside a commitment to operational excellence. What You Will Do Design, architect, and develop platform services with a keen focus on scalability, security, and optimal developer experience. Guide operational design to ensure reliability by integrating observability, monitoring, and automated incident response into security-critical services. Create automation and tools for self-healing systems and proactive risk management, enhancing failure recovery processes and conducting continuous resilience testing. Collaborate with compliance, governance, and risk teams to effectively translate regulatory requirements into scalable technical controls. Lead technical architectural reviews and postmortems for platform-level incidents, enhancing our services continually. Mentor engineers on security and operational best practices across different disciplines, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing. Take ownership of service delivery from initial design and development through deployment, hardening, and maintenance. What You Will Bring At least 6 years of experience in software engineering, SRE, or security engineering roles, with extensive experience managing security platform services. Strong backend development skills in languages such as Go, Java, Rust, or Python. Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, service mesh, and container orchestration. Thorough knowledge of security domains including IAM, OAuth2, OIDC, PKI, secrets management, policy engines, audit pipelines, and zero trust architecture. Experience building and managing highly reliable, observable, and resilient production systems. Expertise in operational strategies: SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, incident management, and on-call leadership. Excellent collaboration skills to align multiple stakeholders across engineering, security, and compliance. Effective communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and business leaders. A BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. What Gives You an Edge Familiarity with SPIFFE/SPIRE, OPA/Gatekeeper, Envoy, Istio, and workload identity management. Knowledge of security compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP.
