We are inviting applications from experienced individuals for the role of a Governance Specialist in our Governance department. This key role demands discrete judgment, confidentiality maintenance, and proactive contributions to enhance departmental efficiency. Working under the guidance of the Senior Governance Manager, the successful applicant shall coordinate preparations for meetings and events, manage volunteer appointments, oversee election administration processes, and maintain our organization's databases and website.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Governance Manager to provide comprehensive support to governance entities like the BOT, EC, EOC, CGD, District, Officer, and ABP Nominating Committees.
  • Organize, schedule, and manage administrative responsibilities for BOT and governance meetings.
  • Manage processes associated with leadership development opportunities, like orientation for incoming Trustees and Officers.
  • Work jointly with the Senior Governance Manager to handle the volunteer committee appointment process, which includes managing applications, references, communications, etc.
  • Conduct all aspects of Academy elections and District Nominating Committees handling.
  • Propose and implement procedures to improve departmental and organizational governance efficiency.
  • Maintain governance-related databases and website contents, ensuring timely updates.
  • Direct special department projects as mandated by the Senior Governance Manager.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business administration, Public Administration, Legal studies or similar.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a similar role handling governance, legal, or administrative tasks.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, virtual meeting platforms, and website content management systems.
  • Able to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Efficient organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expertise in Robert’s Rules of Order would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience in nonprofit governance is preferable.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
