The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections of parts throughout the manufacturing process and conducting the final inspection of parts prior to shipment to the customer. They will work with customer source inspectors to ensure part conformity and timely delivery of aerospace products. This role requires analyzing specifications, including written statements of work, purchase orders, part/assembly models, drawings, parts lists, bills of material, layouts, etc., and verifying that all required documentation has been properly interpreted and applied to the part production process. Proven experience using a variety of inspection methods to determine part conformity for precision machined 3 & 5 axis components, sheet metal parts, and assemblies is essential. Experience working with Spirit Aerospace, Boeing Defense, Lockheed, Northrop, Collins Aerospace, and other major aerospace suppliers is preferred. This role works closely with customer source inspectors as well as the Lamsco production and engineering teams. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Follow instructions and procedures. Read blueprints and correctly interpret their features following dimensioning and tolerance ANSI Y14.5M guidelines. Translate dimensions from blueprints using shop math. Read and correctly interpret standards and specifications. Use basic inspection equipment (Micrometer, caliper, Test indicator, surface plate, etc.) and a surface roughness tester (profilometer). Work with common geometric features used in blueprints and provide application knowledge of how to inspect for each (Roughness, concentricity, flatness, runout, perpendicularity, and parallelism). Read and correctly interpret rejection documentation (rejection tags, purge and hold form, etc.). Perform a First Article Detail and Assembly in accordance with form AS9102. Process Net-Inspect AS9102. Perform DPRV Inspections. Perform Receiving Inspection, Warehouse Releases, Grading, Peel Testing, OP, Shipping Inspection & Final Inspection duties. Meet productivity goals related to your department workload. Utilize the Keyence, CMM & MicroVu measuring equipment. Additional duties as assigned.
