Join an organization where your work contributes to a greater purpose.Position Overview:This role is in Governance and Business Services (GBS) and is part of 1st Line within the Multifamily Division at Freddie Mac in McLean, VA. GBS leads the division in managing operational risk, in compliance with the Corporate Enterprise Risk Management framework.As Risk & Controls Manager in GBS, you will support Multifamily Process Owners in managing operational risks facing their processes using an integrated approach for operational risk frameworks and processes and in collaboration with the 2nd line, 3rd line and other business lines counterparts. You will lead risk assessments, design and implementation of controls, issue remediation and other operational risk management activities. The responsibilities are time sensitive and have a high-level of visibility within Multifamily and across the company.Our Impact:We drive effective management of operational risk within the MF division, in line with corporate policies and standards, by identifying, assessing, monitoring, managing and reporting on operational risks, proactively engaging with the business areas and acting as a trusted advisor on operational risk matters.Your Impact:As an integral part of our high performance team, you will proactively assist the team in managing operational risks. Your primary responsibilities include:Engage business area to identify and assess relevant risks in business and design adequate controls that mitigate risksPrepare, conduct, and document risk & control self-assessment (RCSA) for business areasProvide end-to-end support to business throughout the issue management lifecycleInvestigate and document operational risk events and guide the development of remediation actionsSupport implementation of significant changes, such as new products or regulatory requirementsSupport business area during audit and oversight activities and regulator examinationsKeep abreast of current business trends and emerging risks and assess their impact on operational riskMaintain operational risk data stored in BWise, ensuring completeness and accuracySupport reporting on risk & control assessments and operational risk to divisional LeadershipWork individually and with the business to identify, develop and implement operational efficiencyProvide leadership and guidance to less experienced staffQualifications:College degree with 8+ years related work experience, such as Risk Management and/or Internal AuditAbility to evaluate and review the compliance against established policies and standardsAbility to see the big picture and synthesize information from various sources into concise written documentsProven risk literacy the ability to describe use cases and outcomes, risk sources and management concepts across business and technology domainsMust be able to work independently with minimal direction and collaborate effectivelyStrong Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint skillsAn understanding of the Multifamily space and the key topics impacting Multifamily is a plusKeys to Success in this Role:Curiosity and interest in learning the Multifamily businessDrive to understand and apply the Operational Risk Management frameworkTaking ownership to drive results delivering high-quality and timely productsIndependent judgmentDetail orientedAbility to multi-task and prioritizeCurrent Freddie Mac employees please apply through the internal career site.
