We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Permanent PICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic and highly skilled healthcare team. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate, self-motivated professional who is passionate about pediatric critical care and desires to make a significant difference in the lives of critically ill children. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in our state-of-the-art Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, clinical excellence, and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

As a PICU Registered Nurse, you will be required to perform the following duties

  • Provide comprehensive, age-specific care to critically ill pediatric patients and their families.
  • Regularly assess, monitor, and document patients' conditions and responses to treatment.
  • Administer prescribed medications, perform IV insertions, and manage patient feeding and hydration.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure understanding of medical conditions, treatment plans, and healthcare needs.
  • Educate patients and families about illness, medical procedures, and ongoing care requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development activities.

Qualifications

To be considered for the PICU Registered Nurse position, you need to meet the following qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric critical care, pediatrics, or Acute Care.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient care skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, patient privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Physical stamina to meet the demanding needs of caring for critically ill children.
