Accounting And Reporting SpecialistPrimarily responsible for all accounting and reporting functions related to the BLISS grant (.75FTE). Hospital financial tasks as assigned (.25FTE). Responsibilities include: establishing and maintaining positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors, and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of BronxCare Health System and its employees. Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams, consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the BronxCare Health System (a) Safety and Security Policies, (b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting, (c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and (d) Patient and Customer Service. Assist in the timely performance of all accounting tasks, such as journal entries, accounts payable, payroll, closing books and maintaining accounting systems. Prepare monthly financial statements. Prepare financial and statistical reports required by BLISS funding agency. Assist in preparation of BLISS grant applications and budget. Maintain a permanent file documenting information reported. Assist in all functions of the statistics unit, position control system, fixed assets system and other projects as required.Qualifications include: experience in accounting/finance, including analysis and IS systems - BA/BS in Accounting or Finance - Computer literate including Excel, Word and ability to master Hospital systems.
