POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant works closely with an experienced Physical Therapist to rehabilitate patients who are working to regain their full range of motion and strengthen injured muscle groups. As a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, you will spend most of the time working one-on-one with patients, observing their progress, and teaching them new stretches and exercises to help get them back on track.


CAREER DRIVEN PTA - $5,00O SIGN-ON-BONUS


Hours of Operation: Monday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (30 min break), Tuesday to Thursday 7:30 am to 6:00 pm (30 min break), and Friday, 7:30 am to 12:00 pm.


TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Measure the patient’s motor function.
  • Record strength and muscle performance.
  • Assist Physical Therapists in developing treatment plans.
  • Observe patients and write progress reports.
  • Evaluate the capability of patients to function independently.
  • Explaining exercises and therapies to patients.
  • Instructing patients about the use of treatment equipment.
  • Recomending modifications of treatment to a physical therapist.
  • Assist with reports and other projects as needed.


ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to developing physical therapy and aquatic treatment plans.
  • Help create wellness plans based on the patient’s job functions and goal to return to work without restrictions.
  • Attend weekly meetings and team huddles.


EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate from an accredited PTA program.
  • Maintain an active license in the State of Texas.
  • Annual planning to maintain CE’s (management approval required by set yearly quarter).
  • A minimum of 1 year of prior experience.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Thorough knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and business ethics.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
