Job Description:This experienced senior engineer will work within a Special Programs department supporting multiple programs for a diverse customer base. This team, comprised of engineers from many disciplines, works closely with customers to gain insight into real-world needs, priorities and obtains operational feedback to provide the best system solutions for our users.

As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for providing engineering leadership and technical expertise requiring both systems and software engineering insights to achieve solutions for various projects/programs. This position requires a self-motivated team player with excellent technical and communication skills.

Essential Functions:Collaborate with Business area Chief engineers and team members to develop system requirements and strategic plans for executionGuide strategic execution decisionsPerform Systems Engineering roles as needed for each program. Tasks could include system requirements, design, development, integration/test, field deployment and operator training.Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application.Respond to customer inquiriesPerform as Lead Systems Engineer as requiredPrepare customer briefings and documentationPrepare hardware and software estimates for customer requested capabilitiesCreate and maintain strong working relationships within the company and with onsite and offsite customers.Provide leadership for programs and productsMentor junior engineersTravel CONUS/OCONUS 10-20%.

Job Qualification Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. A degree in

Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or closely related technical field is strongly preferred.

Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

Must possess an active DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance with the ability to maintain, which requires U.S. Citizenship.Extensive systems engineering experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:Must be a self-starter who is comfortable determining program needs and executing them.Ability to work with flexible goals or shifting priorities.Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skillsMastery of systems engineering concepts and principlesAbility to balance multiple projects and competing prioritiesSolid understanding of systems fundamentalsJava understanding and experienceExperience with databases and SQLExperience with parallel and multi-threaded programmingAbility to learn new concepts quickly and rapidly prototypeCI polygraph (or willingness to take one)
