Job Summary:

This is a clinical position responsible for performing radiology exams specific to respective area of X-ray, Dexa, MRI, or CT duties. Work is performed in accordance with NOMS policies and procedures/applicable federal and state laws. Effective performance requires independent action under general supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Complies with HIPAA and OSHA rules and regulations.
Prepares patients for radiographic procedures. Takes images following established procedures for patient care and safety.
Prepares and injects contrast when needed for diagnostic imaging procedures.
Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
Logs procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
Develops and processes images to film and CD burner. Proficient in sending studies to Radiologist and archival system.
Maintains and cleans exam rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
Processes diagnostic imaging procedures and records history forms when necessary.
Requests and coordinates all necessary patient information including charting and charge slips.
Performs QA procedures on the equipment on a routine schedule to maintain requirements for ODH and ACR accreditation.
Ensures compliance with the ALARA requirements.
Responsible for maintaining medical inventory and reporting orders as needed.
Copies records when requested with proper authority.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Knowledge of procedures and protocols.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
Knowledge of equipment including safety hazards common to equipment.
Knowledge of printing exams to CD/film
Working knowledge of PACS system and CD burner
Knowledge of sending and storing images.
Skill in positioning patients properly.
Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, Physicians, patients, and families.

Education and Work Experience:

Graduate of accredited X-ray, Dexa, MRI, CT Program.
Minimum of two years experience in respective area required

Certificates and Licenses Required:

American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Certification
Current Ohio License
Current CPR certification
Required to maintain CE requirements

Environmental/Working Conditions:

Combination of office and exam setting. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a radiology department.

Physical/Mental Demands:

Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. Requires full range of body motion including assisting patients, manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
