Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Test Strategist to design and lead the overall testing strategy for complex projects. The ideal candidate will possess both strong technical and business acumen and will have experience applying best testing practices in various phases of product development. The Test Strategist will translate business requirements and technical specifications into a realistic test plan, focusing on ensuring quality across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Acumen:
Gain a deep understanding of the architecture and tech stack used in the project to provide relevant testing solutions.
Test Strategy Development:
Translate business requirements, technical specifications, and user needs into clear, testable scenarios.
Create and document test plans that outline the test strategy, scope, risks, data creation, resources, and schedules.
Prioritize risks and scope in order to craft an effective testing strategy for various stages of product development.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work proactively across teams to drive testing practices, ensuring integration of quality engineering principles.
Collaborate with vendor partners (if applicable) to ensure alignment with overall testing goals.
Testing Process & Consulting:
Advise and consult teams on best practices for functional, non-functional, integration, regression, performance, security, usability, and accessibility testing.
Automation & Continuous Testing:
Design, architect, and build automation solutions to enable continuous testing throughout the development lifecycle.
Analysis & Insights:
Analyze test results, test coverage, and other test metrics, providing actionable insights to improve software quality.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate clearly with product managers, engineers, business end-users, and other stakeholders about the testing goals, approach, status, and issues, using terminology appropriate for each audience.
Required Skills:
Technical Knowledge:
Extensive experience in software architecture and technology stacks (understanding cloud, databases, APIs, etc.).
Testing Expertise:
Proficiency in creating test plans and test strategies for large-scale applications.
Strong knowledge of various testing types (functional, non-functional, security, etc.).
Experience designing automation solutions for continuous testing.
Analytical Abilities:
Strong skills in analyzing test results and metrics to offer actionable insights on quality improvement.
Collaboration & Leadership:
Proven ability to collaborate across large, cross-functional teams and drive testing processes.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Test Strategy Documentation:
Must submit a test strategy document that they’ve created for an actual client as part of the application process.
