Job Description

***Client prefers qualified Copywriter candidates located near the Columbus or Reynoldsburg, OH area due to the position requiring an onsite presence***


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field

• 3–5 years of professional writing experience with a portfolio dedicated to concise communication and inspiring storytelling

• Excellent knowledge of best practices for Social Media is a must

• Retail, fashion, beauty and/or journalism experience preferred

• Highly organized, attentive to detail and able to meet multiple fast-paced deadlines.

• Ability to multitask and project manage key business priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Strong team player and positive, proactive attitude with great interpersonal skills; ability to brief senior leaders, foster relationships with cross-functional teams, and be solid partner and collaborator with immediate team members

• Ability to think innovatively and creatively and change course if necessary, to achieve desired results

• Results oriented, must be willing to take ownership of all assigned responsibilities and adhere to deadlines

• Proficient in MAC, Word, Keynote/Powerpoint and Excel


COPYWRITER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Writes and edits concise, compelling copy that drives engagement with the Social Customer, including:

• Writes captions for daily content — minimum of 14 stories per week — across brand platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, x, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest)

• Influences copy for Facebook & Instagram Stories

• Helps support posting to Threads

• Writes script copy for live events

• Supports in-the-moment engagement with fans & social media influencers

• Maintains brand voice & helps define voice & tone for customer care teams

• Translates marketing messages to match the social media landscape & the voice of the customer

• Patterns the landscape for trending, relevant content inspiration & applies learnings appropriately to drive innovation for the brand across social channels

• Studies & experiments with product across all categories, fragrances & forms to support product storytelling & customer education within the Social space

• Partners with Brand Strategy, Organic Social, designers and analytics to bring social-related copy to life.

• Uses brand positioning and content strategy to tell engaging and trend-relevant stories.

• Collaborates to ensure all messages align closely with and complement the seasonal and overall strategy to support consistent brand positioning. Meets ongoing deadlines.

• Presents concepts and finalized projects to Organic Social team and Brand Strategy leadership

• No travel required


Notes: Ideally it would be local/hybrid but we can be open to remote as well if in the same time zone.
