Senior Maintenance Operations PlannerThe People of Southwest Airlines come together to deliver on our Purpose, which is to connect People to whats important in their lives through friendly, reliable, and low-cost air travel. The Senior Maintenance Operations Planner invests in the future of Southwests People by scheduling the maintenance services for our fleet. This role will communicate, collaborate, and support Maintenance Control, Maintenance Stations, and Flight Dispatch. In addition, theyll oversee and balance the workload vs. capacity expectations on Day 1 and Day 0 for Line overnight, hangar overnight, and multi-shift maintenance visits. The Senior Maintenance Operations Planner is analytical, detail-oriented and can multi-task in a dynamic environment to maintain the maintenance schedule for all aircraft.Responsibilities:Forecast, schedule, and optimize Line overnight ETOPS fleet maintenance, including daily review of dual maintenance restrictions and communications to maintenance stationsReview daily operations exceptions and aircraft misroutes and collaborate with Flight Dispatch to make the required aircraft routing correctionsSchedule and manage short-term critical fleet campaignsManage activities applicable to Day 0 scheduled maintenance during irregular operations and flight schedule disruptionsCommunicate, collaborate, and support Maintenance Control, Maintenance Stations, and Flight DispatchAudit and review daily maintenance reports ensuring all required maintenance is scheduled on or prior to the due dateResearch, authorize, and process carryovers of scheduled maintenance tasksResearch, authorize, and communicate to MX Control aircraft manual unlock notificationsSchedule, manage, communicate, and coordinate actions related to inactive aircraft, such as short-term/long-term parking, potable water disinfection, and requirements sensitive to inactivityOversee and balance the workload vs. capacity expectations on Day 1 and Day 0 for Line overnight, hangar overnight, and multi-shift maintenance visitsManage, schedule, and coordinate annual potable water sampling and quarterly disinfects in accordance with EPA mandatesReview, assess, set up, schedule, and coordinate daily short-term deferred defects, MELs, CDLs, and Ad Hoc TasksAssess, manage, and coordinate with Material Stores, AOG, and MX Control part shortages for scheduled work orders on Day 0May perform other job duties as directed by Employees LeadersKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of transport category aircraft systems and structuresStrong Knowledge of general functions, departments, processes, and business practices of a technical operations department in a major airlineSkilled in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and ExplorerAbility to review and understand technical publications, such as task cards, engineering orders, and aircraft manualsAbility to manage aircraft-level projects and fleet campaigns and communicate progressAbility to navigate and update databasesStrong ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with peer departments and maintenance stationsAbility to utilize computerized data collection/maintenance automation systemAbility to manage multiple priorities and make critical decisions in a rapidly changing environmentEducation:Required: High School Diploma or GEDExperience:Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:FAR121 or FAR135 Airline Technical Operations, or3rd party maintenance repair & overhaul, orPrivate / General Aviation technical planning and maintenance scheduling, orMilitary Technical planning and maintenance schedulingPreferred: Experience in MaintenixLicensing/Certification: N/APhysical Abilities:Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the jobAbility to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the jobOther Qualifications:Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelinesMust be a U.S. citizen or have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986Must be at least 18 years of ageMust be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelinesMust be able to work weekends, shifts, and holidays as requiredPay & Benefits:Competitive market salary from $103,750.00 per year to $115,300.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
