We are currently partnered with a Tech Start-Up that is entering its hyper-launch stage based in Chicago, Illinois. This product company is in the ground root start up phase, however they are fully funded.


They are looking for a Software/Technical Project Manager, fully on-site in their Chicago office.


This person needs to have programming experience, familiar with coding/reviewing coding. Specific languages/skills would be Golang/Python or Java and AWS. Someone starting as an engineer/developer then moving into Software Engineering or Project/Program Management would be the closest fit.



Duties and Responsibilities:


• Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans that outline the scope, objectives, timelines, and resources required. This includes identifying project milestones, tasks, and dependencies to create a clear roadmap for project execution as well as continually updating documentation as projects evolve.

• Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional project teams, providing direction and support throughout the project lifecycle. This involves coordinating the efforts of team members, contractors, and consultants to deliver project outcomes.

• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all

project-related matters. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all

levels, including executives, team members, and other involved parties, to

ensure alignment and address any concerns.

• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. This involves continuous monitoring of project progress and making necessary adjustments to plans and strategies to manage any identified risks.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure that project deliverables meet the predefined quality standards and stakeholder expectations. Implement quality assurance processes and methodologies to maintain project quality.

• Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve project management processes and methodologies, incorporating best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


Skills and Qualifications:


• Strong project management skills, with proficiency in project management software and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).

• Technical background, with an understanding of software development, IT infrastructure, or other relevant technical areas.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and manage stakeholders across various levels.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.

• Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct

project teams.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project scopes and

timelines.

• Smart and curious, quick learner, positive attitude, detail-oriented,

creative problem solver.


The ideal candidate has:

  • Provided technical project management by combining organizational leadership, strategic planning, and agile methodologies.
  • Established roadmaps with stakeholders for projects, created project plans while managing resources, and obtained necessary approvals for execution.
  • Facilitated scrum ceremonies by conducting daily stand ups, spring planning, backlog refinement, release planning.
  • Oversaw the end-to-end revamp of (the company product) by cross-functionally managing UI/UX, content, SEO, FE development, BE develoment, quality assurance (QA), digital optimization, and vendor teams.
  • Launched Optimizely experiment, oversaw redevelopment, conducted A/B testing, etc.
