OHSU has three missions: healing, teaching, and discovery. In the School of Nursing, these focus to optimize health, prepare nurse leaders, and transform health care. Infusing these is a fourth: to become a trauma-informed and truly anti-racist institution. The School of Nursing has made the same commitment. The OHSU School of Nursing in La Grande is located on the Eastern Oregon University campus. EOU serves as a regional center for education, culture, and scholarship. La Grande is the gateway to Eastern Oregon’s snow-capped peaks, beautiful forests, churning rivers, rocky cliffs, sage-covered hills, fertile farmlands, and friendly towns. La Grande is 262 miles from Portland.
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.
Faculty ranks are as follows (Per Diem, 0 FTE):
- Assistant Professor (DNP or equivalent): $57.10-$67.45/hr.
Clinical Activities (not related to teaching or research):
- Plans and supervises student lab and/or clinical experiences or practice based on teaching assignment.
Scholarly Activities (research/writing, abstracts, grant supported work, presentations, etc.):
- Participates in scholarly activities based on faculty rank.
Education Activities (include types of teaching and types of student taught):
- Provides effective didactic instruction based on teaching assignment using appropriate instructional technologies to ensure that course outcomes are met. Participates collaboratively in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum. Mentors and advises students.
Service Activities:
- These activities could include faculty meetings, committee membership, professional activities and other responsibilities as assigned by the Program or Academic Director. Participates in faculty governance; additional engagement based on rank.
Administrative Activities:
- As negotiated.
Other Activities:
- The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree and minimum of 3 years’ professional experience
- Experientially prepared in areas assigned to teach. Must be able to contribute to the teaching mission
- Able to serve as “faculty of record” for SON courses approved by the appropriate Graduate or Undergraduate Council
- Oregon RN license and current AHA CPR card
- Teaching experience at the baccalaureate level or higher preferred
