Job Description

The U.S. Food Safety & Quality Systems Team (FSQS) is part of the North America Supply Chain function that enables the McDonald’s System to connect customers with food they love and trust. Primary responsibilities include:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver technical understanding and business insight to provide US Supplier and Distribution solutions to serve safe, consistent, gold standard food and drink
  • Implement, maintain, and improve dedicated food safety and quality systems, focusing on results most meaningful to the customer and business today and for tomorrow (future-proofing)
  • Execution of USFSQSGoals & Key Performance Indicators
  • Leads self and provide lateral or informalleadership across the Three-Legged Stool.
  • Enables Prioritization, Agility & Consistency processes and ways of working, focusing onDriving Results and Outcomesmost meaningful across the supplier and distributor network today and for tomorrow

Key Needs of the Role

  • Proactive management and oversight of US Suppliers and Distributors, driving a continuous improvement culture and optimizing day-to-day food safety and quality performance
  • Use data integration and prioritization to establish change, proactively manage issues, and drive performance
  • Anticipates current and changing business and customer needs and manages emerging quality and food safety risk
  • Collaborates in development, support, and execution of the department work plan and scorecard measurements.
  • Collaborate and communicate across 3LS, maximizing impact as a member of the U.S Supply Chain team and across the US and GSC/global business to influence change, proactively manage issues and improve food safety, quality, AH&W, and overall supplier and distributor performance
  • Benchmark within and outside of the system, driving FSQS Innovation and sharing the McDonald’s story; partner and collaborate on industry issues, to identify and integrate best-in-class practices, and driving FSQS excellence across US Suppliers and Distributors

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands on experience with developing and implementing food safety and quality systems that can be executed at a high level.
  • Bachelors degree required, food science preferred, with at least 8 years of food product production/quality systems and/or food industry experience.
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Possess strong verbal and written communications skills to effectively communicate information with FSQS team members, supply chain and the others across the system
