Director Of Sponsorships And FundraisingNetroots Nation is the premier progressive conference that brings together thousands of activists, organizers, policymakers, labor and nonprofit leaders, and media makers each year to share ideas, build partnerships, and shape the future of the progressive movement. Our mission is to amplify diverse voices, advance bold progressive solutions, and strengthen the progressive ecosystem.We are looking for a strategic, relationship-driven, and results-oriented Director of Sponsorships and Fundraising to lead our sponsor and exhibitor engagement, manage year-round fundraising efforts, and cultivate long-term partnerships that sustain the conference and the broader organization. This role combines business development, political fundraising tenacity, corporate partnership strategy, and hands-on program administration, with a strong emphasis on execution.The Director will be managing the full lifecycle of sponsorships and exhibitor relationships - from prospecting and outreach, to contract administration and benefit fulfillment, through post-event stewardship and renewal. You'll be working closely with the Executive Director, a fundraising consultant, and internal staff/contractors to deliver high-quality experiences for sponsors and exhibitors at the annual conference.Travel averages about once per month (roughly 10%). Attendance at the annual conference is required. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will be responsible for:Developing and implementing a comprehensive sponsorship and exhibitor strategy aligned with Netroots Nation's mission, values, and financial goals.Prospecting, cultivating, and securing new sponsors and exhibitors through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship-building.Designing and selling sponsorship packages (including custom and off-menu opportunities) in collaboration with leadership and consultants.Negotiating contracts and overseeing the fulfillment of all sponsor/exhibitor benefits, including registration, signage, branded items, and on-site visibility.Managing year-round sponsor/exhibitor communications, ensuring inquiries are addressed, benefits are tracked, and deliverables are fulfilled.Tracking fundraising performance against organizational goals and providing regular progress reports to leadership.Fostering long-term relationships, with a focus on cultivating multi-year commitments and diversifying revenue streams across sectors.Stewarding and growing relationships with organizations and individuals contributing year-over-year.Maintaining and organizing the fundraising pipeline - keeping prospects warm, moving opportunities forward, and executing consistently.Managing the setup and administration of the annual registration site, including bulk sales packages and comp code distribution.Administering the scholarship program, including reviewing applications, communicating with recipients, and coordinating with host city partners.Coordinating with program staff on presenter waivers, scholarships, and registration logistics.Collaborating with communications and marketing teams to ensure sponsor visibility across the website, event app, and conference materials.Tracking and managing all sponsor, exhibitor, and presenter registrations.Working with the Exhibit Hall Manager to coordinate exhibitor logistics, including booth setup, shipments, and on-site support.Overseeing the on-site sponsor and exhibitor experience, ensuring benefits are delivered and issues are resolved promptly.Serving as the primary point of contact for accessibility needs and coordinating with vendors on services such as mobility scooters.Supervising on-site processes such as badge printing, sponsor recognition, exhibitor activations, and VIP experiences.We are excited about you becauseYou bring 7-10 years of experience in sponsorship, fundraising, development, political fundraising, or event-based revenue generation.You have demonstrated success securing and stewarding partnerships, and you know how to build relationships that renew year after year.You understand sponsorship sales, donor development, and exhibitor management - and you know how to execute, not just strategize.You bring the tenacity of a political fundraiser, paired with the strategic thinking and polish of someone who has worked with corporate or trade organizations.You are comfortable navigating political/progressive spaces, understanding community sensitivities, and authentically representing Netroots Nation's values.You thrive on networking, outreach, and closing deals - bringing a hustler/go-getter mindset and the ability to not be discouraged by a "no."You're highly organized, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and quick to learn new systems; CRM experience is a plus.You collaborate well across teams, vendors, and consultants, and you bring a team-oriented, "pitch in and help" mentality.You are a self-starter who can hit the ground runningReasons it pays to work for Netroots Nation (in addition to the pay itself)...Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid leave, retirement contributions, and professional development opportunities.A flexible remote work environment, with travel opportunities for meetings, partnership-building, and our annual conference.A mission-driven organization committed to equity, inclusion, progressive values, and building a more just world.Don't meet every single requirement?
