Material HandlerAs a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient operations by pulling customer orders based on invoices and tickets, assisting the burn table operator, and reorganizing material. Your tasks will involve moving product using cranes, adhering to color-coded systems for raw material organization, and providing excellent customer service when loading and unloading trucks.Responsibilities:Pull customer orders based on invoices and tickets.Assist the burn table operator in pulling product for orders.Bend, kneel, and walk throughout the day to move product.Use large cranes to move steel orders from racks.Reorganize material in 'monkey racks' to optimize stock.Utilize color-coded systems to organize raw material.Load and unload trucks, interact with customers picking up orders.Prioritize tasks with a focus on customer service.Essential Skills:Warehouse experience.Material handling expertise.Proficiency in using a tape measure.Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Ability to see all colors.Valid driver's license.Ability to lift 50 lbs.Experience in labor-intensive work such as carpentry, construction, or mechanical.Longevity in previous positions (2+ years).Preferred experience with micrometers and calibers.Why Work Here?Enjoy a small team environment with opportunities for training on overhead cranes, a highly marketable skill. The team fluctuates between 15-20 members, ensuring lean operations through the winter months. The warehouse is divided into four sections, encouraging specialization and independence. Dress code includes jeans and steel-toed boots for safety. Expect a first shift schedule from 7am-4pm, with varying temperatures depending on the season.Job Type & Location:This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
