ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Performs inspection of parts, sub-assemblies, castings, forgings, and final products, and incoming raw stock, to determine conformance to alignment, contour, hardness, functionality, and dimensional specifications.
  • Performs in-process inspection of parts and sub-assemblies.
  • Analyzes Engineering drawings, customer specifications, planning documents, and requirements to determine inspection process to follow.
  • Performs inspection through visual techniques and application of such measuring devices.
  • Inspects parts to be processed and upon completion of processing to ensure conformance to customer specifications and requirements.
  • Records inspection results on appropriate forms, inputs data to computer in a format which leads to decisions on final disposition of discrepant parts.
  • Maintains log of scrap parts.
  • Performs calibration of inspection tools.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent;
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of production, quality assurance experience; and/or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Works in a factory environment and is exposed to dirt, heat, grit, sparks, noise, fumes, and dust.
  • Requires close hand/eye coordination, high manual dexterity.
  • Duties and responsibilities performed normally do require special physical requirements including prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching over, pushing, pulling, repetitive use of hands, grasping, and occasional lifting of material up to 25 pounds.
