RN Quality Innovations Consultant

Our consultants play a pivotal role in assisting Skilled Nursing Facilities in achieving and maintaining higher ratings in the CMS Five Star Quality Rating System. They provide expert guidance, data analysis, and support to improve quality measures and health inspection outcomes and to ensure ongoing compliance with CMS regulations and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations of healthcare facilities’ performance in quality measures using MDS data, IQIES reports, and CMS datasets.
- Analyze data about staffing levels, quality measures, health inspections, and other elements of the Five Star Program.
- Identify areas for improvements in facility processes and develop strategies to address deficiencies.
- Remain current with Federal and State regulations, guidelines, and changes to the Five-Star Rating System.
- Collaborate with facility staff, including administrators, Directors of Nursing, MDS coordinators, and Quality Assurance teams monthly and as needed.
- Develop action plans customized to address specific areas of improvement identified through data analysis.
- Monitor progress and effectiveness of efforts and adjust strategy as needed.
- Stakeholder engagement- build and maintain relationships with facility leadership, serve as a liaison between facility and regulatory agencies, respond to inquiries, and facilitate communication as needed.
Qualifications
- Seeking an RN with a strong SNF background (RAC-CT or DNS-CT, Director of Nursing/ADON experience)
- A deep knowledge of MDS 3.0, CMS Five Star Quality Rating Systems, and PDPM is required.
- An understanding of the CMS survey process and the ability to perform mock surveys on and off-site.
- Experience with quality improvement.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
- Experience with electronic medical records is a must - PointClickCare, Sigma, Matrix, and My Unity.
- Strong computer skills: MS Office, Word, Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
