Payroll and Employee Management:

  • Process the weekly payroll for all companies.
  • Prepare cash journal entries for weekly payroll, taxes, and withholding liabilities for each company.
  • Enter new hires into software.
  • Update employee records with changes to pay rates, including union adjustments, for all companies.
  • Update employee insurance changes in software and coordinate with insurance carriers.
  • Reconcile insurance carrier billings with employee withholdings.
  • Bill laid-off employees for insurance premiums.
  • Process employee garnishments.
  • Manage prevailing wage compliance.
  • Process and pay union dues for unionized divisions.
  • Handle unemployment and wage inquiries.
  • Maintain employee files.
  • Perform payroll reconciliation for all companies.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll taxes and payroll reporting.
  • Prepare W2s and year-end tax returns.
  • Prepare annual ACA federal filings to be mailed with W2s.
  • Compile wage cost buildup and miscellaneous labor data as needed.
  • Assist HR with various tasks as needed.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned.


Promotional Activities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with employees, insurance carriers, and union representatives.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Promote from within.


Internal Communication:

  • Maintain effective communication and teamwork with employees, accounting, and operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments within to ensure a consistent flow of information and good working relationships.
