The use of wellness breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and assist employees in meeting their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes in a given workday may be used to engage in wellness activities, generally in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.Leads the accounting and financial operations of a unit, department or agency. Recommends and implements accounting policies and procedures in accordance with government regulations. Directs subordinate supervisors and staff. Specific Duties Include: Insure deadlines are met. Assist with identifying and resolving problems/errors. Coordinate annual audits for 13 counties. Allocate expenses and pass-through funds across multiple programs. Review ledgers and financial statements for accuracy. Assist with reports and data analysis to inform managerial decisions. Coordinate the annual budgeting process. Other duties as assigned.Under the pre-employment fitness-for-duty this position is considered a Category 1: Sedentary: Primarily involves light physical work with minimal unusual working conditions. Examples include administrative roles, management, and HR specialists.Bachelor's degree in accounting and four (4) years of professional accounting job-related experience, which includes two (2) years in managerial or supervisory role; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Mgr, Accounting (FIM010) or position equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in State of Georgia accounting preferred. Must have excellent Excel skills.All East Central Health District 6 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary. DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc. The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
