Job Purpose:

Controls Engineer’s primary function is to estimate, engineer and successfully commission control systems. In addition, in this position the controls engineer will respond to our client’s emergency needs when equipment is down and assist clients on their site to bring their equipment back to operation. In this position, a successful engineer should be able to shift between multiple tasks and be able to plan and utilize their time efficiently to accomplish these tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1)   Ensure all equipment / systems are designed and implemented properly with the required level of compliance, quality, technical performance, and customer satisfaction.

  • Perform troubleshooting on customer site in a variety of industrial control platforms.
  • Clearly communicate with customer to successfully manage assigned projects/calls, obtain feedback, correct problems, and address client issues.

4)   Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations.

5)   The Controls Engineer will be required to share on-call duties.

Education and Experience:

  • BSEE is required. 
  • A minimum of 5 years experience troubleshooting control systems and performing engineering duties related to application and installation of automation equipment on machinery.

 

Soft Skills:

 

  • Excellent customer service skills with a proven record of high client satisfaction
  • Observant, Analytical and Strategic in their approach to problems

Hard Skills:

·        Needs to have a solid working knowledge and understanding of PLC’s (Allen Bradley and Siemens are required), HMI’s (Allen Bradley and Siemens are required), SCADA (Ignition and Wonderware) software, AC and DC Drives and Motion Control, as to how they are configured and programmed.
