We are looking for a PRN Speech Language Pathologist to join our amazing team.

*What will you do:*

* A Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate and treat residents/patients with temporary or long-term speech, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
* They will evaluate the resident’s/patient’s speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency and develop treatment plans. They will treat the residents/patients based on a physician’s treatment plan.

*Qualifications:*

* Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
* Current license in Speech Language Therapy as required by state law.
* Valid CPR certification required.
* Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

*Functions:*

* Screens and evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plan.
* Under a physician‘s direction, provide direct patient/resident treatment based on established plan of care.
* Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems.
* Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
* Instructs residents/patients, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
* Completes required forms and clinical records in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
* Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
* Works collaboratively with other rehab therapists and nursing staff in a supportive team-working environment.
