Director, ReportingThe Director, Reporting leads FedEx Freight's external financial reporting function, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and full compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. This role oversees the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and disclosures, supports technical accounting policy development, and partners across Finance, Legal, and the business to maintain a strong control environment. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the Director provides strategic oversight and guidance to ensure FedEx Freight's financial reporting processes align with regulatory expectations, support decision-making, and enable readiness as a standalone public company.Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:Leadership and OversightLead the financial reporting function, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant SEC and U.S. GAAP reportingManage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual filings, including Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, and other external disclosuresDevelop, coach, and mentor to a high-performing reporting team, promoting collaboration and accountabilityServe as the technical accounting resource for complex transactions and policy interpretationGovernance, Policy, and ControlsPartner with the CAO and Internal Audit to ensure financial reporting processes meet Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and internal control requirementsOversee documentation and compliance for all accounting standards and disclosure controlsMaintain consistent application of accounting policies across the enterprise, incorporating lessons learned from RemainCoStrategic CollaborationWork closely with FP&A, Treasury, and Legal to align reporting with financial strategy and corporate governanceSupport audit and disclosure processes with external auditors, ensuring alignment on accounting treatments and timelinesPartner with Technology and Finance Systems to enhance reporting automation and data accuracyDisclaimer: This job description is general in nature and is not designed to contain or to be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master's degree preferredCertified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferredExperience:Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or audit experience in a large or complex organizationAt least five (5) years in a leadership role overseeing external financial reporting or technical accountingKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and disclosure requirementsProven ability to interpret and implement new accounting standardsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detailEffective communication skills, capable of translating complex accounting matters for senior leadership and non-financial stakeholdersDemonstrated experience leading teams and building strong partnerships with auditors, regulators, and internal functionsWorking Conditions:Some travel required between Memphis and HarrisonFedEx Freight is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.
