SEO Specialist

NOTE: Job applicants must currently live in or near the Greater Sacramento, California. We are not interested in any out of state or remote applicants.

Instinct Marketing provides local business clients with inbound online marketing strategies to generate leads. This includes search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, website design & development, and more digital marketing services to improve the success of their marketing efforts.

As an SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for carrying out Search Engine Optimization strategies for our clients and achieving long-term success. You will collaborate with the Marketing Director and other team personnel to create effective campaign strategies for these accounts, implement them, and keep clients informed of progress. To perform optimally in this role, you must possess a deep understanding of Search Engine Optimization principles. Your main objectives will be to ensure organic performance and client retention, which means you need to demonstrate proficiency in SEO practices and keep the client up-to-date on any changes or developments.

The perfect applicant should be able to grasp concepts quickly and be eager to become knowledgeable in our clients' industries. They must treat each customer's business as if it was their own

Responsibilities

• Implementing in-depth SEO analysis of the client's current website, including sitemap recommendations (structure, page names, redirects, etc.), topical authority content analysis, and domain analysis/recommendations.
• Managing On-Site SEO performance by checking and improving on-site optimization, checking and improving internal link structure, and checking and fixing potential indexation issues.
• SEO Content Management - Editorial calendars management, topic planning, communication with writers about reviewing, improving, and adding valuable content.
• Establishing a clear understanding of the client's SEO objectives and expectations is paramount; this involves conversing with team members to recognize specific goals, as well as ensuring that keywords align with both business and SEO goals.
• Preparing and sending custom monthly SEO updates and reports to the client.
• Managing Off-Site SEO campaigns such as local SEO listings and overseeing backlink campaigns.
• Ensuring Google Search Console and Google Analytics are properly set up and accurate from the start.
• Perform keyword research to identify high-value search phrases to drive traffic that will convert into sales leads.
• Create and/or update clients' Google Business Profile listings and manage posting schedules.
• Communicate progress, roadblocks, and opportunities to leadership.

Preferred Experience

• Basic HTML / CSS / JavaScript Knowledge
• Experience with CMS such as WordPress (Gutenberg and/or Elementor), Squarespace, Shopify, Duda, Wix, etc.
• Experience setting up conversion tracking with Google Analytics 4
• Experience working with the home services industry is a plus
• Experience writing and publishing your own blog is a plus
• Experience working in a digital agency is a plus
