JOB SUMMARY FOR NETWORK ARCHITECT:
- Seeking a Sr. Network Architect for a client located in Chicago, IL.
- Hybrid
- Pay range: $82-92/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR NETWORK ARCHITECT:
- Develop and maintain network architecture, standards, and designs, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct capacity planning, optimize performance, and evaluate emerging technologies for innovation.
- Manage vendor relationships, select hardware and software, and negotiate contracts.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and contribute to the IT department's strategic roadmap.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR NETWORK ARCHITECT:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in network architecture and design.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs).
- Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.).
- Knowledge of network security best practices and experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR NETWORK ARCHITECT:
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Experience with cloud-based networking solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
- Proven track record of successful network design and implementation projects.
