Responsibilities:

  • Gas Trading Strategy: Develop and execute effective trading strategies for the Southern gas markets, taking into account market conditions, price trends, supply-demand dynamics, and regulatory factors.
  • Risk Management: Analyze and assess the risks associated with gas trading activities, employ hedging strategies, and ensure compliance with risk management guidelines.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze gas market trends, competitor activities, and geopolitical events that could impact gas prices and market dynamics in the south regions.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, evaluate trade opportunities, and assess potential profitability of gas trades.
  • Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, traders, and other stakeholders to optimize trading outcomes and enhance the overall performance of the trading desk.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and internal policies to maintain the integrity of trading operations.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations for management, summarizing trading activities, market insights, and performance metrics.


Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in gas trading or related fields, with a focus on the Southern Gas Markets.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the natural gas industry, including supply chains, pricing mechanisms, and market participants in the North East region.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and trends to make informed trading decisions.
  • Risk Management: Experience in managing risks associated with gas trading and implementing effective hedging strategies.
  • Financial Acumen: Proficiency in financial analysis and the ability to evaluate trading opportunities based on profitability and risk factors.
  • Adaptability: A resilient and adaptable mindset to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced trading environment.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
