NOVA Engineering is currently seeking a highly skilled Construction Materials Laboratory Technician to join our team in Panama City Beach, Florida. The Lab Manager will manage the lab's production and personnel and provide quality assurance/quality control lab testing duties for commercial, retail, educational, low—to high-rise, manufacturing, and government construction projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Performing specific QA/QC tests on construction materials and building components such as soil, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt, per DOT, ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, etc. standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of observations, inspections, and test results.
  • Organizing lab data, processing, and report preparation.
  • Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and workspaces.


Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in a Geotechnical / Construction Materials Testing laboratory
  • ACI and FDOT CTQP laboratory certifications are preferred
  • Must have experience with soil and concrete testing and sampling along with other construction materials.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to work well with CMT Project Managers, Geotechnical Engineers, Field Technicians, and Inspectors.
  • Strong project management abilities, including managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
