R&D Engineering Internship (Medical Device Development) – Summer 2024

Location: Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California (On-Site) 4 days a week


Description:

A well-funded medical device startup is seeking a highly motivated student to participate in product development and research programs to support a novel cardiovascular electrosurgical system (disposables and capital equipment).


Required Qualifications:

•Mechanical or Biomedical (mech focused) Engineering Student

•Design experience with SolidWorks software. Will be expected to gain SolidWorks Associate certification by end of summer.

•Excellent communication and report writing skills


Preferred Qualifications:

•Previous engineering internship experience

•Participation on engineering design team / club


Job Responsibilities:

•Apply critical engineering problem solving skills to complete defined project tasks and deliverables

•Plan, conduct, and report on design verification testing

•Design experiments, including prototyping test fixtures

•Create engineering drawings and support DHF and DMR documentation

•Attend and assist with animal labs as doctors evaluate new products

•Collaborate with executive team in regular meetings and design reviews
