Role: Cobol Developer

Where: Lincoln/Omaha, Nebraska, Alpharetta, Georgia, or Berkeley Heights, New Jersey

Wage: $130-150K based on experience

Work Environment: Onsite – 90 days, hybrid


Top 4 Skills Required:

  • 10+ years’ Cobol Development (Cobol 6.2)
  • SQL, and DB2
  • Strong Communication Skills for Client Interaction
  • Java Development a plus


Summary:

Capstone IT is helping our client to hire a Cobol Developer. This position primarily involves the analysis and conversion of financial data from various banking software systems to our client’s Premier platform. As a Data Conversion Specialist, you will develop applications in COBOL to facilitate efficient and successful data migration. Your role includes performing project analysis to determine specific conversion and implementation requirements and providing end-to-end consultation to clients throughout the process.


This is a hybrid role in Lincoln/Omaha, Nebraska, Alpharetta, Georgia, or Berkeley Heights, New Jersey requiring either relocation or commuting.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IT teams and business partners on technical client solutions.
  • Engage in all software development stages: requirements, analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation.
  • Provide prompt troubleshooting and debugging for customer service issues.
  • Develop and test efficient code, moving it through development and into production.
  • Maintain the mainframe using utilities like CA7, Endevor, IDPC, Infoman, and IOF.
