As a Veterinary Tech/Assistant, you'll play a critical role in supporting our doctors and ensuring pets receive exceptional care from check-in to discharge. You'll provide skilled nursing support, patient monitoring, and technical expertise while delivering compassionate service to both pets and their families. Role Responsibilities: Assist veterinarians with patient exams, diagnostics, procedures, and surgeries. Perform laboratory tests, radiographs, and other diagnostics as directed. Administer medications, treatments, and fluid therapy according to protocols. Monitor anesthesia and surgical recovery, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Collect and record patient medical histories, vitals, and progress notes in electronic records. Educate and support clients on treatment plans, preventive care, and at-home instructions. Use proper animal restraint techniques and maintain safe handling practices. Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile treatment, exam, and surgery environment. Support emergency and critical care patients with triage, monitoring, and interventions. Collaborate with doctors, technicians, and CSRs to ensure efficient patient flow and continuity of care. Experience & Skills Requirements: [AB1] Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred. 1-2 years of clinical experience; ER/specialty experience a plus. Strong technical skills in anesthesia, patient monitoring, and nursing care. Excellent communication skills and ability to provide compassionate client education. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Physical ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted and remain on feet for extended periods.
