JOB DESCRIPTION

Here at ROOTS, we call our teachers "Mentors" because we believe in developing students as whole. If you have a passion for teaching music AND mentoring students to become the best they can be, both in and outside the studio, we'd love to hear from you.

ROOTS Music Mentors are responsible for the following, but not limited to:

-Teaching instrumental techniques, scales, sight reading and music theory.

-Helping prepare students for auditions and live performances.

-Because the majority of our students are between the ages of 7-17, you will also be responsible for keeping parents up to date on their child's progress.

-Attendance at bi-monthly staff meetings, Winter & Spring performances, and occasional staff trainings is required.

-Hours of Operation (teachers are hired on for no less than 2 days within the following time frames):

• Monday-Thursday: 2:00-8:30pm
• Friday: 2:00-7:00pm
• Saturday: 10:00am-2:00pm

All lessons are fulfilled in our 11,000 square foot studio located in the Brentwood/Cool Springs area. ROOTS has a total of 14 music studios, including a band rehearsal space and two studios with baby grand pianos.

Requirements:

-At least 1 year of prior teaching experience is required.

-All applicants must be willing to commit to at least ONE year of consistent teaching.

-All music teachers must undergo a criminal background check before they can work at ROOTS Academy.

-Consistency is the name of the game, so applicants who are currently pursuing tours and regular gigs during peak teaching times will not be considered.
