Research Project ManagerA position of research project manager is available in the Materials Science and Engineering department. The project manager is needed to oversee the NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) "Data science-driven sustainability-centered advanced materials processing (Sus-Mat)" program, which is being led by Dr. Allison Beese.Responsibilities include:Overseeing and advising on research project operations, including study methodologies, protocol development, project deliverables and timelines, data management and analysis plans, and financial administration; providing guidance and oversight to research team members; and serving as the project point of contact with faculty, sponsors, and leadership.Designing project workflow processes and project infrastructure; delegating, prioritizing, and reviewing research tasks in order to achieve project goals and improve results.Overseeing data collection, data management, and reporting methods; interpreting and presenting complex data findings to department executives, external organizations, sponsors, and the larger research community.Interface with external collaborators to direct and facilitate multi-site and collaborative research.Planning and administering project budgets; serving as liaison with central financial offices, including research accounting, payroll, and department financial officers; creating financial and statistical reports for Principal Investigators and division/department executives; analyzing information and recommending spending activity.Collaborating with unit, department, or center leadership in order to develop strategic partnerships, advance the mission of research initiatives and projects; developing long-term plans for resource allocation.Minimum education, work experience, and required certifications:If filled as Research Project Manager - Intermediate Professional, this position requires: Master's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Certifications: None. If filled as Research Project Manager - Professional, this position requires: Bachelor's Degree No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: None.Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $56,200.00 - $89,600.00.
