As a custodian, you'll support our team by maintaining the buildings to ensure clean, organized operations. You will sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, empty the trash, clear snow, and maintain the landscaping. You can expect to work in extreme temperatures (-25F to 100F) in the distribution center. With an assigned working area within the freezer temperature zone.Essential Functions:Maintains the facility and associated paperwork to meet AIB and other food safety standards.Sweeps, mops, scrubs and vacuums; may include hallways, stairs and office space within the distribution center.Empties trash and garbage containers and cleans snow and debris from walkways.Performs inspections of equipment and reports findings.Mows lawn, trims shrubbery and cultivates flower.May remove, charge, transport, and install hi-lo (forklift) batteries in the warehouse.Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.Ability to read, write and communicate in EnglishAbility to read and understand information on a Material Safety Data Sheet, and adhere to safety regulations and proceduresAbility to work in a Freezer environment (Custodian, Freezer)Ability to work independently and within team environmentMust be able to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV), vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, gardening tools and other various types of equipment.Must have basic computer skills utilizing windows/Google G-suite based software.Equipment / Tools / Technology:Powered industrial vehicle (PIV), lawn mower, golf cartVacuum cleaner, gardening tools and other various types of equipmentComputer, hardware, softwareHandheld radioEducational & Experience RequirementsPreferred: High School / EquivalentCertification or License: Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification required after hireMinimum Years of Experience: No previous experience required.
