Key responsibilities:

  • Research and generate ideas for innovative packaging designs that deliver value to the business.
  • Manage packaging design, testing and validations to support new product launches, distribution of products and quality resolution.
  • Create packaging designs for design consolidation, transport optimization and supplier consolidation initiatives.
  • Analyze packaging spend data to develop continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Well versed with packaging suppliers and change management processes.
  • Perform financial validations and justifications for productivity projects.
  • Utilize Thermo Fisher’s internal problem-solving process, Practical Process Improvement (PPI) to identify and implement efficient solutions.
  • Work with sustainability, manufacturing, and distribution teams to execute projects across multiple sites.


Required Skills:

  • A Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, Packaging, Chemical, Industrial or Mechanical engineering is required.
  • Lean/Six-Sigma or any continuous improvement process certification is required.
  • Exposure with Packaging validation protocol and testing standards such as ASTM, ISTA, etc. is required
  • Project management and finance education or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • 2 to3 years of experience in packaging field
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new packaging designs and driven continuous improvement and cost savings projects through packaging.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytic, written, and oral communication skills with an emphasis on communicating complex ideas in a simple way and influencing senior leaders.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD or SolidWorks and PowerBI.
