Youll write the firmware that connects sensors, motors, and compute together into cohesive, reliable systems. From writing low-level drivers to optimizing for real-time performance, youll work across teams to make sure everything just worksevery time.What Youll DoBuild and maintain embedded software for robotic platformsIntegrate sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers across various communication protocolsDebug and resolve hardware-software issues in real-time environmentsOptimize embedded systems for performance and reliability on constrained hardwareCollaborate closely with hardware and high-level software teamsDocument your design, testing, and implementation work for the teamBasic QualificationsBS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fieldProficiency in C/C++ for embedded systemsHands-on experience with ARM Cortex-M or similar microcontrollersSolid understanding of Real-Time Operating Systems (e.g., FreeRTOS)Familiarity with common hardware interfaces: I2C, SPI, UART, CANAbility to read and interpret circuit schematics and datasheetsPreferred QualificationsExperience with robotic systems (sensors, motors, kinematics)Familiarity with Linux and ROS-based development workflowsScripting experience in Python for automation/testingUnderstanding of motor control fundamentals (e.g., PWM, feedback loops)Comfortable with embedded debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, logic analyzers)
