Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Reports To: Program Director
Department/Program: ADHC
Exempt/Non-Exempt: N/A Contracted Provider
Job Summary:
Provides an occupational therapy program for the physical and mental rehabilitation of participants per Title 22/ADHC/CBAS requirements.
Basic Responsibilities for Job Title:
1. Provides excellent customer service at all times, to internal and external customers.
2. Assess participants for appropriateness of occupational therapy program at the initial and continuing assessments.
3. Develop and group occupational therapy program as required by the individualized plan of care (IPC). The occupational therapy program shall meet the following goals:
a. Decrease or eliminate disability during the participant’s initial phase of recovery following injury or illness.
b. Increase or maintain the participant’s capability for independence.
c. Enhance the participant’s physical, emotional, and social well-being.
d. Develop a function to a maximum level.
e. Guide participants in the use of therapeutic, creative, and self-care activities for improving function.
4. Record treatments, each day, in the participant’s health record. Each entry shall be signed. Via Turbo TAR, or in the charts. This also includes daily flow sheets, both restorative & maintenance.
5. Record quarterly progress notes. Each entry shall be signed and dated.
6. Review and initial all evaluations and the discharge summary.
7. Develop personnel policies that define the occupational therapy responsibilities and the duties assigned to the occupational therapy assistant (OTA).
8. Reevaluate the participant as the condition changes and modify treatment goals consistent with these changes.
9. Maintain equipment and supplies for creative skills. This may include arts & crafts activities.
10. Maintain supplies for adapting equipment for education in activities of daily living.
11. Coordinate therapeutic exercises, sensory stimulation, and coordinating exercises concentrating on the range of motion of the upper extremities.
12. Evaluate the need for splints or slings to increase or maintain functional use of the upper extremities.
13. Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Basic Responsibilities for all Employees:

Skills and Abilities:
1. Assessment skills.
2. Bilingual English/Chinese is preferred.
3. Skills and abilities vested due to education, training, and experience as a Licensed Occupational Therapist.
Physical Requirements:
1. Patience and understanding of frail elderly.
2. Will walk, sit, stand, stoop, bend, and may perform repetitive motions during teaching, training, and implementing goals for participants.
Environmental Conditions Critical to Performance:
1. Performs work in an office environment.
Education and Experience:
1. Graduation from an approved school of occupational therapy.
2. Must be registered by the American Occupational Therapy Association & licensed by the California Board of Occupational Therapy in good standing.
3. Occupational Therapy Experience with frail elderly and disabled populations preferred.
Job Types: Contract, Full-time
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
