Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will set the strategic direction for the Investor Relations function and play a pivotal role in championing the story of our science, pipeline, and impact to the investment community.In this key leadership position, you will collaborate across research, development, executive leadership, and corporate communications to translate complex scientific, clinical, business and financial information into compelling, impactful narratives. As the primary contact for investors, analysts, and other key external stakeholders, you will drive the development of strategic communications and provide actionable insights that shape Vir Bio's external reputation and support our continued growth.This role is located in our San Francisco headquarters with an expectation of at least 3 days per week in office.What You'll DoDevelop and execute an annual investor relations strategy that effectively communicates Vir Bio's short and long-term vision, corporate goals, and scientific progress to the investment communityContinuously monitor internal developments, external market events, and shareholder trends for Vir Bio and its peers to inform and adapt investor relations strategy, ensuring messaging and targeting remain relevant and impactfulAnalyze shareholder base and investment trends for Vir Bio and its peers to inform investor targeting strategy, monitor its effectiveness, and identify proactive opportunities to engage with the investment communityPartner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and alignment of messaging and disclosure across all investor materials and presentationsLead investor engagement activities, including organizing banking conferences, non-deal roadshows, R&D and analyst days, bus tours, and one-on-one meetings with the investment community, along with research or clinical investor eventsPartner with the CFO as the main point of contact for sell-side analysts, actively engaging to convey Vir Bio's strategy and key messages. Collect and assess sell-side models, compare them to internal forecasts, and use these insights to inform analyst and investor communicationsLead investor communications, including corporate presentation decks, management Q&As, website content, the business section of Form 10-K, and other matters as requiredPrepare earnings releases and investor conference call scripts and coach leaders for effective deliveryContribute to Board materials, other company press releases, and SEC documents (e.g., Form 8-Ks, Form S-3 fillings)Create briefing materials for management in preparation for investor meetingsCollaborate with cross-functional partnersincluding Competitive Intelligence, legal, and corporate communicationsto monitor industry trends, ensure regulatory compliance, deliver key events like the annual stockholder meeting, and maintain accurate, consistent messaging across all external communicationsWho You Are And What You BringBA/BS required, MBA, M.D., or relevant Ph.D. preferredMinimum 10 years of investor relations experience in a publicly traded biotech or pharmaceutical company, at an investor relations firm working with biotech or pharmaceutical clients, or on the buy or sell-side working in biotech or pharmaceuticalsAbility to present and respond to questions regarding complex scientific and clinical dataDeep understanding of capital markets, financial statements and valuation models used by investors and analystsWell versed in SEC and FDA regulations impacting investor and other external communicationsExceptional communication abilities, strong financial acumen (including valuation and financial modeling), and a strategic mindsetHighly collaborative working style across internal and external teamsStrong network and relationships with influencers in the scientific and healthcare communityHighly organized and structured, able to manage and guide complex investor communication events, often with multiple competing prioritiesWho We Are And What We OfferThe expected salary range for this position is $227,500.00 to $318,000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.Vir Biotechnology's compensation and benefits are aligned with the current market and commensurate with the person's experience and qualifications. All full-time employees receive a package that includes compensation, bonus and equity as well as many other Vir Biotechnology benefits and perks such as health and welfare benefit plans, non-accrual paid time off, company shut down for holidays, commuter benefits, childcare reimbursement, education reimbursement, 401K match and lunch each day in the office.
